All our custom cabinets are designed with safety and convenience in mind. Our durable, well-designed and well-built casework provides easy access to electrical, gas, vacuum and water services. By providing custom designed casework, modular and mobile systems and architectural woodwork, Design of Tomorrow can accommodate any shape, size, color. Design of Tomorrow can also meet any other requirements for desks, files, computer stations. displays, racks and storage systems.  Mobile demo units are also available to meet your custom needs.

General Overview of custom cabinetry and specifications:


All dimensions and sizes are nominal and may change to specifications.

All worktops are standard grade high pressure plastic laminate or epoxy products, unless specified otherwise.

All product can be custom modified to customer specifications.

All products must be specified by Width (W), Height (H) and Depth (D), Finish, Color, Glass, e.t.c.

Mechanical and electrical devices, piping and connections provided by other trades.

All mechanical and electrical devices, fume hoods, countertops, sinks and accessories are accordingly to original manufacturers' specifications.

Detailed requirement for custom cabinet construction:

Sub-Base: Cabinet sub-base shall be separate and continuous, water resistant grade plywood, ladder type construction, fastened to cabinet bottom. At exposed cabinet end panels should be recessed 1/4".

Shelves: Thickness shall be 3/4 inch up to 40 inch wide and 1 inch above.

Cabinet Backs: Cabinet backs should be "dadoed" into sides, top and bottom and recessed from the rear of the cabinet. Exterior backs should be PVC balanced with cabinet liner.

Cabinet Ends: Exterior cabinet ends should be PVC balanced with cabinet liner interior surface. Front edges should be flush door or drawer face. Holes pre-drilled for adjustable shelves

Door/Drawer Fronts: Drawer fronts and hinged doors should be full overlay with 1/8" vertical and 1/16" horisontal reveals.

Frameless sliding doors should have glass with ground and polished edges.

Drawers: Drawer sides should be doweled and glued. Drawer front should be applied to separate drawer body component. Drawer bottom should be "dadoed" into front, sides and back.

Cabinet Top and Bottom: All cabinets over 36 inches should be joined with a fixed divider.

Dividers: Natural hardboard secured in cabinet with blind fasteners or pressure fused laminate subdividers secured in cabinet with molded plastic clip or dowels.

Work Tops: Epoxy countertops, troughs and sinks should be factory molded or modified epoxy-resin formulation with smooth, nonspecular finish with flexural strength not less then 10,000 psi; modulus of elasticity not less then 2,000,000 psi: hardness (Rochwell M) not less then 100; water absorption not more than 0.02 percent; heat distortion point not less than 260 deg.

Chemical resistant plastic laminate: Formica Chemtop.

Standard grade plastic laminate: Formica or as specified.

Phenolic resin: Resistop or Trespa.

Stainless steel: 16 gauge, type 304. number 4 finish.

Abut top and edge surfaces should be installed in one true plane flush hairline joints and with internal supports placed to prevent deflection. Eposy contertops should be secured to cabinets with epoxy cement applied at each corner and along the perimeter edges and where necessary with fasteners (plug hole flush with material equal to countertop in resistance).

Holes and cutouts for service fittings should be provided. Mobile cabinets tops and fume hoods tops as specified.
